Jordanelle State Park

Are you in need of some time away from the hustle of busy Salt Lake City? Since its creation in June of 1995, Jordanelle State Park has offered tourists and locals a wonderful spot to take in Utah’s beautiful wilderness. Enjoy seeing mountain peaks, meadows, and pristine forests of aspen trees when you spend a day in the great outdoors at Jordanelle. While visiting the park, be sure to check out Jordanelle Rentals & Marina for access to boating amenities at our full-service marina and pro-shop.

Situated in the midst of picturesque mountains, Jordanelle State Park affords visitors to the Heber City area plenty of opportunities to become one with nature. A recent addition to the Utah state park system, Jordanelle is one of the more popular state parks because of its wide array of outdoor activities and close proximity to Salt Lake City (about 40 minutes away). Whether it’s pitching a tent in the forested campsites or taking the time to study Utah’s natural beauty, Jordanelle has outdoor activities to suit everyone.

Jordanelle features two different recreation areas — Hailstone and Rock Cliff Recreation Area — for camping, hiking, picnicking, and access to the reservoir. Hailstone, the more developed of the two, has water and electric hookups for RV campers, as well as modern restrooms and showers for tent campers. The walk-in campgrounds at Rock Cliff offer a quieter setting along the Upper Provo River. Take a hike on the nature trails and boardwalk to enjoy wildlife watching.
